I've stayed in at least 20 holiday lets in the UK during the last decade and this is close to the top. Location is stunning, house is very comfortable, with all mod cons, wonderful views both from the windows and the small but pleasant garden on the hill behind. Catered for family of four with mother-in-law extremely well. Big main kitchen-diner and good sized sitting room. The house is on a "main" road but in this part of Arran the traffic is extremely light, so it was not a problem. There's a nice very quiet beach about 5 minutes down the road, which is pebble above the tide line, but mainly sandy below the tide line. Good local shop 10 minutes walk away (again along quiet "main" road). Lovely walks nearby, and if you like mountain hiking as I do, you'll find some of the most beautiful mountain scenery with good trails only a short 20 minute drive away - not quite Munros, but feel and look like it as you are rising from sea level. Evocative standing stones in amazing setting of sea, sky and mountains, also only 10 minutes drive away. Only minor issue is there is only one house bathroom, with no separate toilet (which required a bit of management with teenage kids!)
