Westfield – The House
Accommodation
If you are looking for a spacious, comfortable, self catering holiday home with bags of character, then Westfield is for you.
Westfield benefits from a quiet location, wonderfully proportioned rooms that are bright and airy and west facing sea views with amazing sunsets to enjoy.
The Kitchen
The farmhouse-style kitchen is extremely well-equipped and large enough to comfortably cater for eight guests.
in addition to the modern fan oven there is a halogen hob and an oil-fired C/H Stanley range. (As well as being an oven, the stove also warms the rooms, towel rails and supplies hot water in the colder months.)
There is also a dishwasher, washing machine/tumble dryer, microwave oven and fridge freezer. Towels and tea towels are provided.
Other items include an iron, ironing board, rotary washing line and clothes-pegs. A high chair and travel cot are also supplied. Safety gates are fitted at the top and bottom of the stairs.
The Living Room
The light and airy living room is spacious and well-proportioned, with two comfortable full size sofas and easy chairs. For those cooler evenings, the wood-burning stove makes it extra toasty.
There is Free WIFI, plus a large 52″ Flatscreen Smart TV and a DVD player with a selection of DVD’s.
A spare triple USB charging point is also available in case you need additional power.
There is a selection of books and games for traditional family entertainment.
Upstairs
Stairs from the kitchen lead up to a hallway, off which are four bedrooms, a shower room and the family bathroom.
The Stairs and Hallway
Child safety gates are fitted at the top and bottom of the stairs.
Our stairwell features a custom wallcovering of the Glenashdale falls, a ‘must see’ while you are on Arran.
The Family Bathroom and Shower Room
The family bathroom has a toilet, basin and panel bath with an electric shower over.
The Shower room has a Corner Shower Enclosure, Toilet and Hand-wash basin.
The Bedrooms
Westfield has four bedrooms, sleeping 7 + baby.
There are two doubles, one twin and one single.
In addition, there is a travel cot provided (please bring your own cot bedding).
All bedding (excluding cot bedding), towels and linen are provided. (Please bring your own beach towels.) A hairdryer is also available.
The Grounds
In front of Westfield is off-road parking for two to three vehicles.
A door from the sitting room leads outside to a fenced, gravelled seating area at the side of the house. From there, steps lead up to the raised, terraced garden behind the house from where there are panoramic views across the Kilbrannan Sound to the Mull of Kintyre. Additional gated access leads from the seating area to the front of the house and the road.
Please note: due to Westfield being an older traditional property, there are stairs inside and steps outside, which may not be suitable for very small children or the infirm. Whilst the grounds are bordered with hedges, they are not small child or animal proof – please take care and ensure that the front gate to the road is securely fastened at all times.
