Probably the cleanest, most tastefully decorated and best provided cottage we've stayed in on Arran. The kitchen was a joy to cook in. Five of us stayed on a freezing cold Easter week. The house was beautifully warm - once we'd sussed the oil rayburn. The stove in the lounge was a bonus. Sharing a single bathroom between 5 took a little organisation, but we managed. Had worried that we'd be troubled by traffic - as the main road around the island goes past the front door - but hardly heard or saw a thing, more tractors and buses than cars. Sunsets from front spectacular - and lovely to see the newborn lambs in the field opposite. Even saw a seal in the bay one morning. Shop and restaurant in the village more than met our needs. A true escape from cares and tribulations. A haven of peace.
