Our stay at Westfield was fantastic! We had mixed weather but plenty to do! When we arrived, we stopped off at the Co-op on the way to get food for the weekend. We spent our first night enjoying the lovely sea views and sunsets through the window in the lounge - which was extra cosy with the log burner. The first morning, we took our bikes out and had a good ride around the island, starting off in the lovely sunshine but later, getting caught out in some bad weather! We found ourselves at a lovely pub called the Black Grouse- the people were very kind and welcoming given the soggy state we were in! We got back to the cottage which was still toasty from the night before- enjoyed a lovely hot shower in the beautifully decorated bathroom and heated up some soup and rolls in the Rayburn and dried our clothes on the rack hanging above. The kitchen was well stocked and quirky- we were able to play our music on the iPod docking station whilst enjoying our well-deserved soup! The beds are comfortable and cosy- hot water bottles and extra bedding were available if needed and all rooms had beautiful views of the island. The house may be situated on the 'main' road, but in the whole weekend we were there, about 3 cars must have passed the house! The road is narrow which means cars that do come past aren't going very fast. By the edge of the beach across from the cottage, there's a small park for children to play on swings and enjoy beach combing- we found some lovely shells and ended up having a walk right across the beach front. The cottage itself is cosy and welcoming- full of character and is everything you need for a relaxing break! It is stocked with necessary kitchen appliances and for days when the weather is not at it's best, plenty of dvd's available to watch on a big tv! We made use of pretty much everything in the cottage and even baked a cake as we were staying during Easter. Would definitely come again- already looking for dates to go back and would highly recommend!
