Where is Westfield?

Westfield lies right on the west coast of Arran in the hamlet of Whitefarland and a mile south of the village of Pirnmill.

Getting to Arran

Arran is accessible by sea from mainland Scotland via two car ferry routes operated by CalMac. Visit Caledonian MacBrayne for ferry times, information and to make a booking.
The main ferry route runs from Ardrossan to Brodick. In the summer months there are 8 daily sailings taking just under an hour, but it is strongly advised to book well in advance, due to high demand. The other smaller ferry runs during the summer months only from Claonaig to Lochranza on the north coast. It takes only 30 minutes, but is non-bookable. In common with any travel advice, we would recommend that you make sure you have adequate travel insurance in place.

Timing your journey

If you are travelling to Westfield by road, Calmac ask you to arrive at your departure port at least 30 minutes before sailing, The sailing from Ardrossan to Brodick takes just under an hour and the journey from Brodick to Westfield by car will take approximately 30 minutes.
If you are using public transport, there is a rail link from Glasgow to Ardrossan ferry port. Buses meet the ferry at Brodick and travel all around the island. For more information see their website here. You can request a bus stop directly outside Westfield.
However you wish to travel, full location details and directions will be e-mailed when your booking payment is confirmed.
