Westfield lies right on the west coast of Arran in the hamlet of Whitefarland and a mile south of the village of Pirnmill.

The main ferry route runs from Ardrossan to Brodick. In the summer months there are 8 sailings on Saturdays, but it is strongly advised to book well in advance, due to high demand. The other smaller ferry runs during the summer months only from Claonaig to Lochranza on the north coast. It takes only 30 minutes, but is non-bookable.
